Buff and Shine Dual Action Flexible Backing Plate 6"
Buff and Shine puts forth a lot of effort in manufacturing and fabricating quality backing plates just as they do with their foam pads. It's crucial that a backing plate spins true! If it's not symmetrical and wobbles at slow speeds, it becomes more than just an annoyance at higher speeds.
When polishing with a machine, it's always wise to leave a margin between edge of pad and edge of backing plate. When polishing up to an edge or near a perpendicular surface you must NEVER allow a spinning backing plate to come in contact with the surface. That's why we always recommend using a pad slightly larger than the backing plate. This 5 7/8" diameter backing plate is designed for use with 6 1/4" to 6 1/2" buffing pads.
