Modified with hybrid synthetic siloxane, DLUX 2.0 flows more easily around spokes, recessed areas, and detailed trim. Its reduced viscosity simplifies application and provides a more forgiving wipe-off along with a much larger "flash time" window. This means you no longer have to rush through coating complex wheels concerned it will dry before you can wipe it off. While in some very hot climates the flash time may be a few minutes, most will see a window around the 5-10 minute range.

If you are concerned that an easier to apply ceramic coating means it may not perform as well, I'm happy to say that has not been our experience so far in testing! CQUARTZ Dlux 2.0 is more hydrophobic even with a single coat! What's more, CARPRO has greatly increased the slickness and even improved its resistance to water spots further.

DLUX 2.0 restores richness to exterior plastics and leaves a highly hydrophobic finish. On painted, powder coated, or chrome wheels, it helps resist brake dust and road grime, making ongoing cleaning easier and reducing the need for dedicated cleaners.

In our testing, coating an intricate wheel design was a breeze while our tests on plastic materials produced a richness to its appearance that could only be described as a drastic improvement.

Directions for applying DLUX 2.0 ceramic coating on plastic:

Confirm compatibility with the specific finish being treated.
Increased water spot resistance does not eliminate the possibility of water spots.

1. Directions for plastic trim:

Make sure the surface is cool and dry. (Do not apply to hot surfaces or in direct sun.)
Scrub surface with an all-purpose cleaner and microfiber towel.
Rinse while agitating with a microfiber towel to remove all residue from the APC.
Dry surface.
Wipe the surface with CARPRO Eraser, wipe dry, and then allow plastic to evaporate 20 minutes before applying
Wet the applicator with a strip of CQUARTZ DLUX 2.0 Trim & Wheel Coating and spread evenly across a small area at a time.
When applying, it is VERY important to work one area in even as you go.
Start in one corner and work out! Do NOT take on a huge area at once.
Apply nice and even as you go and be sure to work a section in evenly before moving to the next overlapping area.

Smooth Plastic: Apply, allow to flash and rainbow a few minutes, and then wipe off.
Textured plastic: Using ceramic coatings on textured plastic is at your own risk. See explanation below under Important Precautions.

Directions for Painted, Powder Coated, or Chrome Wheels:

Wash wheels thoroughly with WheelX.
Polish surface as needed.
Wipe-down surface with CARPRO Eraser.
Wet the applicator with a strip of CQUARTZ DLUX 2.0 Trim & Wheel Coating and spread evenly across a small area at a time.
Allow the CQUARTZ DLUX 2.0 to flash until it appears less wet. Approximately 5–10 minutes depending on temperatures.
Use a CARPRO 2 Face Microfiber to wipe off until clear and be sure to avoid leaving any uneven residual.
Be sure to inspect recessed areas and edges for excess coating.
Allow CQUARTZ DLUX 2.0 to cure 3 hours without water being introduced to the surface.  
If the surface gets wet between 3 and 24 hours after application, then wipe the water off before it dries on the surface.
After 24 hours it is well cured, but if possible, avoid washing with chemicals for at least 3 days.

Directions for Matte/ Satin wheels:

Using ceramic coatings on matte or satin finishes is at your own risk due to the fact that these polishes cannot be polished to prep for or remove the coating if an error is made.

Wash thoroughly.
Thoroughly strip with P21S Total Auto Wash, rinse, and dry.
Decontaminate with Iron X.
Do NOT polish the surface - NEVER polish a matte surface.
Wipe-down with CARPRO Eraser.
Practice using DLUX 2.0 on a surface you may polish before using on matte or satin surfaces.
Allow CQUARTZ DLUX 2.0 to flash until it appears less wet using timing you tested yourself on a gloss surface in your environment.
Use a CARPRO 2 Face Microfiber to wipe off until clear and be sure to avoid leaving any uneven residual.
Be sure to inspect recessed areas and edges for excess coating.
Allow CQUARTZ DLUX 2.0 to cure 3 hours without water being introduced to the surface.  
If the surface gets wet between 3 - 24 hours after application, then wipe the water off before it dries on the surface.

Important Precautions:

Brand New Vehicles (Textured Plastic):

MANY people use DLUX ceramic coating on new textured plastic  successfully. However, the reason we have a warning is because of possible complications that can arise a year later due to variables out of our control. A car dealer may use a very high silicone content dressing on the trim before selling it to the new owner, and some of this may not be able to be removed before the application of CQUARTZ DLUX 2.0. That can cause it not to bond and create an unsightly appearance if not entirely bonded. We believe it is also possible that the plastic may “gas out” for a year or so after being created, and potentially that gas could get caught between ceramic and plastic and create tiny microscopic bubbles that start to make an unsightly dulling appearance. In the rare instances that it happens, there is no surefire solution to removing the discoloration or white dots due to the fact it is nearly impossible to effectively polish a ceramic coating off textured plastic without changing its appearance.

Matte Finish Surfaces:

We personally advise against using any permanent coating such as CQUARTZ Dlux 2.0 or any other ceramic coating on a matte finish (or any finish that you are not able to polish).

The reasoning is twofold:

1. Applying CQUARTZ DLUX 2.0 Trim & Wheel Coating to a surface that you cannot polish in case you need to remove the product is not logical to us. The liability involved doesn’t make sense to us. Having said that, many detailers do so but at their own risk only.

2. You cannot polish the surface to prep it in the first place, so a proper bond is not guaranteed.
